ARCTIC CIRCLE ASSEMBLY 2019
On Friday October 11th 2019, TTO Iceland successfully hosted a presentation and panel discussion at the annual Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavík. The session was opened by our board member Sigurður Hannesson - Director General at the Icelandic Federation of Industries, and moderated by Mona Wan - Associate Director at Stanford Office of Technology Licensing. We launched a pan-Nordic Technology Transfer Network together with Aalto University, DTU, the University of Greenland / Ilisimatusarfik, VIS Innovasjon, Chalmers University, Stanford OTL, Kjeller Innovasjon, and SNITTS. We signed an agreement called "The Reykjavík Pledge". The goal of this joint collaboration is to bring science to society and work towards the goals of the Arctic Council, the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Third Arctic Science Ministerial.

MASTERCLASS FOR SCIENTISTS
On August 14-16th 2019, TTO Iceland held a 3-day Masterclass for Scientists with focus on how to create sustainable businesses and valuable solutions out of their research. It takes more than a great idea and a can-do attitude to transform society, to revolutionise industries and integrate pioneering technologies. It also requires entrepreneurial skills, IP strategy, the right team, connections to key networks and access to investment. The Masterclass was held at the Iceland Ocean Cluster.

Mentors included Jón Ingi Benediktsson from Accelerace in Denmark, Eugen Steiner from Health Cap in Sweden, Hannes Ottosson from Innovation Center Iceland, Einar Mantyla, CEO of Auðna TTO, Pétur Vilhjálmsson from Hugverkastofan, Anna-Margrét Guðjónsdóttir from Evris / Inspiralia, Ásta Sóllilja Guðmundsdóttir and Susan Christianen, Business Development Managers at Auðna TTO.

Many thanks to all participants and mentors for making this a successful event! We will have a follow-up in September with a pitch-day, and look forward to repeating this Masterclass in the future!
